The School hosted top students from King Abdulaziz University (KAU) and executives from Saudi Arabia for a six-week Qiyadat-NUS Leadership programme. Conducted in collaboration with the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) from 5-22 August, the programme was graced by a visit from Sheikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Afandi, the Chairman of Manarat Al-Oloom Research Limited.
“This is a strategic, developmental initiative endorsed by the highest levels of leadership in Saudi Arabia. The participants are young, future leaders of the country. In their three weeks here, they have demonstrated an intense passion to learn and push Saudi Arabia forward in the globalised world. We are most honoured to be chosen as the Singapore partner in this path-breaking collaboration,” said Lawrence Loh, the programme director.
Among the highlights of the programme was a leadership talk by the NUS Executive Education Board Chairman and Professor Christopher Chia. He shared his journey of transforming Singapore’s National Library Board as a Chief Executive, by introducing cutting-edge innovation and business processes — documented in a Harvard Business School case study and used by business schools all over the world.
The programme ended with a closing dinner, during which the participants got a chance to mingle with the existing students of the School.
