NUS alumni hold year-end gathering in Shanghai

Some 140 alumni from the School’s Eastern China Alumni Network (ECAN), NUS Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Shanghai Alumni Club and NUS Faculty of Law Shanghai Alumni Club got together for a year-end gathering at Shanghai Greenland Marriott Hotel on December 14, 2013.

Professor Jiang Haishan, Vice Dean of China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong, delivered a lecture on Interpretation of Policies Released at Third Plenary Session of  the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He discussed the current role of markets in China, the establishment of a central team for comprehensive reform, as well as the setting up a state security committee and propose changes to China’s one-child policy.

Ong Siew Gay, Consul General of Singapore in Shanghai and NUS Alumnus, also spoke at the event.

These networking events provide our alumni more than an opportunity to meet people – they also encourage a healthy exchange of ideas and information. “We hold such annual gatherings every year to give our Shanghai alumni an opportunity to share ideas and bond. It is here where many interesting ideas are born,” says Kim Fee Cheah, Chairman of NUS Alumni Shanghai Chapter.
